Mution
Mution is the world's first motion detection controlled digital music player. A video camera points at easily recognisable symbols on the wall. Waving in front of these symbols triggers the control of music. Rather than having a graphical display, feedback is given to the user using sound effects and speech synthesis where appropriate. A video demonstrating the user interface can be found on the mution website.
Mution was originally developed for my MSc in Design and Digital Media thesis. Development is currently on hold while I concentrate my efforts on EdinburghMenus.com. The current working prototype remains up and running in my kitchen!
